The Museum of Military Glory was established in Ufa in 2000 by the decree of the President of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Its opening coincided with the 55th anniversary of the Victory Day.
The building of the museum was designed by the Arkhproject company, the author of the concept was Dmitry Vinkelman and chief engineer was Oleg Goryayev. The architectural idea was to show how difficult it was for Soviet soldiers to win. The building itself looks like an anti-tank obstacle, a symbol of defense. The red and black granite in the cladding emphasizes that war always brings blood and dirt. The use of tinted windows and stainless steel elements are part of the general concept of the architectural ensemble, as the museum is part of the memorial complex in the Victory Park.
Previously, sculptures to the Heroes of the Soviet Union were installed here, as well as the T-34 tank on a pedestal. The park has an alley with the names of the Gold Star holders and Full Cavaliers of the Order of Glory.
