The Palace of the Governor

#1
The Palace of the Governor
#2
The Palace of the Governor witnessed three centuries of Siberian history. The history of the building dates back to 1700. The Palace was built in 1782, on the site of the Departmental Chamber, the first floor of which was preserved and became its component part. During this time, not only the architecture of the building changed, but also its names — the Departmental Chamber, the Palace of the Governor, and Government agencies. Currently, the exposition of the Museum of the History of Management of Siberia is located in the memorial building.

The items from the collections of archeology, ethnography, weapons, and documents have a special place in the Museum’s collection. In addition to the main exposition, which reflects the history of Management of Siberia, there is a thematic exposition “Culture and life of the Siberian Tatars”, which presents the history, traditions, and life principles of the ancient people of Siberia.
